Originally constructed as the Nuovo Teatro Ducale, Italy’s famous Teatro Regio di Parma has embraced change over the years, seamlessly. The once-obsolete house of the 17th century quickly metamorphosed to become a revered destination for opera buffs flocking there to witness stellar performances by some of the greatest Italian maestros. Now, as the theatre prepares to embrace digital performances, they are ready to make it an even more spectacular affair.
Taking to Instagram to make the announcement, Italian opera singer and songwriter, Andrea Bocelli, recently unveiled an exclusive, ticketed, global live-stream event at Teatro Regio di Parma opera house titled Believe in Christmas. The post further states that the show—which will go live on December 12, 2020, for European nations—has been directed by Belgian theatre director, Franco Dragone who is known for his mesmerising work with Cirque Du Soleil. Asian nations can witness the same on December 13. With this show, one will be able to experience the enchantment, warmth and positivity of Christmas — claims the Italian theatre in another Instagram post.

The tickets for this magical one-off Christmas special are already live on the official ticketing partner’s website, priced at USD 25 (approximately INR 1,848). When purchasing a ticket, one can also contribute to the upliftment of poverty-striken societies, combat illiteracy, and empower socially excluded and distressed people.
Notably, Teatro Regio di Parm has undertaken similar virtual performances in the past as well. For instance, the virtual Barezzi Festival 2020—which included performances by Marlene Kuntz, Sara Loreni, Ettore Giuradei and Valentina Polinori—recently concluded on November 30.
