Movies, series, and books are among the most popular ways people across the world are using to cope with the pandemic. While social distancing and cancelling events are essential but it has created a cultural gap which people long to fulfil. Well, now you can, with the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival founded by Robert Di Nero moving its programming online.

On the same dates as its original launch, that is April 15 to 26, you will be able to access several of the festival’s projects online such as the Industry Extranet Resource Hub, Jury and Art Awards as well as the Tribeca X Program. Significantly, it will also include screenings of 14 virtual reality films under the Tribeca Immersive Cinema360 programme.
The festival is already catering to your daily entertainment needs with its ‘A Short Film A Day Keeps Anxiety Away’ initiative under which it rolls out a new short film from a different filmmaker every day on its official website. While some movies are making their debut premieres, others are from the festival’s alumni.

#TribecaStrong has been trending since the organisers unveiled the plan to digitise the festival. It has long been the platform used by independent and new filmmakers to showcase their talent to the world. The press statement of Jane Rosenthal, the co-founder of the festival shines with resilience, “We were founded after the devastation of 9/11 and it’s in our DNA to bring communities together through the arts.”
