It is the season of romance and grand gestures. Here are five outstanding new timepieces that will woo your partner, all over again! By Mitrajit Bhattacharya
1. Defy Midnight
Zenith
For its first purely feminine watch, Zenith has sought inspiration from the cosmos. Housed in a 36mm stainless steel case embellished with diamonds, the dial gives Zenith’s ‘time to reach your star’ philosophy a literal manifestation. The brand’s faceted star emblem is the highest, brightest point in a sky of glowing stars. White diamonds are applied on every hour marker except at 3 o’clock. The watch comes with three coloured straps. Price on request.
2. Seduttori Tourbillon
Bulgari
LVMH Dubai Watch Week, Bulgari unveiled the world’s smallest tourbillon for women. The Serpenti Seduttori houses a unique movement designed to fit inside its sleek snake-head-inspired case. Rhodium-plated and hand-decorated with the Côtes de Genève striped pattern, the movement also features one sapphire bridge, all of which can be admired through the transparent sapphire case back. Available in rose and white gold with diamond pavé and a leather strap, or white gold with diamond pavé and a full diamond bracelet. Price on request.
3. Big Bang Integral
Hublot
The first Big Bang with an integrated metal bracelet was launched in January 2020, 15 years after the icon’s maiden appearance. An integrated bracelet means a restyled case, with Hublot’s signature codes. Available in three variants of black ceramic, king gold, and titanium. Of the three models, a 500-piece limited edition All Black version is dedicated to the ‘invisible visibility’ concept introduced in 2006. Price on request.
4. Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech™
Panerai
Inspired by the Italian Navy, this watch deserves the designation ‘Survival Instrument’ engraved on its back. The 47mm case is made of carbotech, which is lighter than titanium and stronger than stainless steel. The unidirectional rotating bezel enables immersion times to be calculated easily, while legibility in the dark is ensured by the generous coating of grey Super-LumiNova® applied to the markers and the large skeleton hands. INR 13,60,000
5. Presage Arita Porcelain
Seiko
The Presage line collaborates with craftsmen from four locations in Japan, including those of Arita Porcelain. Today, artistic creativity enables Arita Porcelain to grace your wrist in the form of a dial that is at the centre of a fine mechanical watch. The unique blue-tinged white contrasts beautifully with the signature 12 o’clock red originally used in Japan’s first wristwatch, the 1913 Laurel. INR 1,50,000
