Direct Flights Between Delhi And Vietnam: Say Hello To VietJet

Direct Flights Between Delhi And Vietnam: Say Hello To VietJet

Vietnamese budget airline, VietJet, is all set to launch direct flights between New Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City starting operations from December 2019. By Kumar Shree 

At the India-Vietnamese Business Forum, recently organised in New Delhi, direct flights between Delhi and Vietnam was announced. As of now, there are no direct flights between the countries and this comes as a welcoming move for travellers, frequent fliers, and businesspersons, alike. These VietJet flights will have an estimated flight time of around five hours and will operate to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on alternate days from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport.

For flights between New Delhi and Hanoi, return flights will start operations from December 6, 2019 and will fly every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The flight from New Delhi will depart at 11:50 pm and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 6:10 am, while the one from Ho Chi Minh City will depart at 7:00 pm and arrive in New Delhi at 10:50 pm.

The initial all-inclusive return fare between Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City are available for INR 13,150 and the same between Delhi and Hanoi are available at INR 13,537.

Backed by Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Vietnam’s leading businesswomen, VietJet started operations in 2011 and went public in February 2017. The airline has also earned an infamous sobriquet of, ‘Bikini Airline’ for using ads featuring flight attendants in bikini for initial promotions and launch. Surprisingly, the airlines till day sticks to the same branding and publishes an annual calendar with models in bikinis posing as ground staff, flight attendants, and even pilots.
