Since COVID-19 has kept us homebound and quarantined for the unforeseeable future, all our travel plans have come to a halt. However, Sylvia Michel, a self-employed photographer and her dog, named Rasta, are taking people around Switzerland as they hike through the Swiss countryside. The duo is capturing all their activities including Rasta eating snow and swimming in the lakes, on their Instagram.

Sylvia always wanted to know more about her wonderful country. This led her to explore new places, beyond the tourist spots, along with Rasta with whom she began her adventures. As they toured Switzerland together, Instagram seemed to be the perfect place wherein she could put her memories in a virtual place.
The Instagram account, @rastawhiteshepherd is widely admired. The photographer has been capturing her expeditions with Rasta since 2014. The account has gained more popularity in the past weeks as the majority of people are stuck in their homes due to the worldwide pandemic. With over 2,90,000 followers, Rasta has won over people’s hearts. Whether he is running through fields, posing in front of waterfalls or basking in the sun, followers love watching this fluffy dog’s daily escapades.

Each day Rasta visits a new place with his owner. Known for exploring the Bernese Oberland area in Switzerland, it is breathtaking to see the diversified landscape with its glistening lakes and mountains through the eyes of Rasta, who takes everyone along the journey virtually.
Despite the lockdown, Sylvia decided to continue to go out in the Swiss countryside as this helps her to stay positive. Abiding by the social distancing rules, the duo visits nearby places and entertain people around the globe through their Instagram posts.
