Vistara’s Chief Commercial Officer Vinod Kannan said that the airline has been seeing a reasonable demand on their service to London Heathrow, within just a month of resuming operations there. Because of the rise in demand, the frequency of Vistara flights has been increased from three to four times a week between Delhi and London.
“We are reviewing the opportunity to operate similar flights to Paris and Frankfurt as well which will also be operated by the Dreamliner. We are now operating at 40-50 per cent of our pre-COVID capacity and look forward to increasing flights to around 60 per cent of our pre-COVID capacity,” added Kannan (as reported on Economic Times).

An increase of 15.2 per cent points in passenger load factor has been recorded between July 2020 and August 2020 on Vistara flights. The airline is confident that while the demand is far from ‘pre-COVID levels’ there is still a consistent increase (as reported on Zee News).
“We have been constantly monitoring passenger demand and have been scaling up our operations in a calibrated manner. We are currently operating over 80 flights a day and plan to increase to over 100 flights per day by end of this month,” added Kannan (as reported on Zee News).

Before COVID-19 took over the world, more than 200 Vistara flights used to ply daily in the domestic sector alone. But the airline is confident that leisure travel will soon pick up pace especially during the upcoming festive seasons and also assured that it will fulfil and update its health and safety requirements regularly.
