This Resort Gives You A Chance To Stay In The Maldives' First Underwater Villa!

Like we needed anymore reason to head to Maldives, Conrad Maldives gives us the island’s first underwater villa Muraka. By Japleen Kaur

The resort is already well known for giving people a stay that they’ll always remember. The underwater restaurant Ithaa at the property, has already been its claim to fame, and now we have Muraka, its villa with a dedicated portion undersea! Going 17 feet below sea level, the villa lets you stay amid marine life, literally!

For a whooping Rs 3,608,750 for a night, expect your stay to be nothing short of surreal. Think dedicated private staff, chef, butler, massage therapists, plus you’re flown in a private jet from the airport or you may choose a speedboat that’ll be at your service for as long as you’re there.

The villa is essentially a duplex with two levels — the upper one comes with a sundeck overlooking the vast ocean, and the lower level is when your gateway to the mermaid world, featuring transparent glass walls and roofs.

Muraka means ‘coral’ in their local language, and there couldn’t be a better name for this spot. In fact, the villa was made in Singapore, and then shipped to Maldives. Talk about the hard work that went behind it. With marine biologists on board with the project, there has been no harm caused to marine life.

When you think Maldives, you think Conrad. And that’s because the hotel was the first to have rooms on stilts, and then the first to have a restaurant under the sea. They are habitual to breaking records, and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
