This new baggage delivery service allows you to fly to and from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport without having to carry your luggage with you. By Tanvi Jain
Travelling just got hassle free at the Indira Gandhi International Airport with a new baggage-transfer service by CarterX. After Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has also started a service for all international and domestic flights departing from and arriving at the Terminal 3 wherein you can get your bags picked up at the airport, as well as delivered to your doorstep.
For pickup, all you need to do is make a booking via CarterX’s website or app by filling in your time slot, location and flight details. Once picked up, your bag will be sealed in a bar-coded tamper-resistant bag. This bag can later be collected from the forecourt area, after which you can proceed to check-in. However, for delivery to your home or hotel, you need to use the app or website upon arrival, or book the service at a CarterX counter located at Terminal 3.
This baggage service covers areas across Delhi/NCR region, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The cost of the same depends upon the size, weight, number of bags, and the distance from where the bag needs to be picked up and dropped. The full payment must be made via the website or the app at the time of booking itself. It also provides a tracker on your phone or tablet.
Although it is currently available only at Terminal 3, but will soon be extended to Terminal 1 and 2 as well. In fact, the booking will also be made available at Delhi airport’s website.
While in Mumbai, the transfer service is available to nearby cities like Navi Mumbai, Surat, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, and more, in Bengaluru, you can ship your bags to Mysuru, Mangaluru, Visakhapatnam and others. Similarly, from Hyderabad, you can ship your luggage to over 12 destinations.
