According to an issued statement by Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), the national capital territory has extended its lockdown by another week. As per the new guidelines, the curfew on movement will now end on May 17, 05:00 am. With the extended lockdown, an e-pass to travel within the region has now been made compulsory.
Introduced for movement of essential services who lack government IDs, the e-pass can be obtained by filling up a form on the government portal. Details such as name, contact number, type and address of service, dates the pass is required for, valid ID proof, and a letter from the employer are required. Upon applying, the authorities will verify the credentials and issue an e-pass if approved. Notably, one need not apply for another e-pass to travel in Delhi if it was already sought during the previous curfews, weekend lockdowns, and night restrictions.

The state government has clarified that an e-pass is not required for patients (and attendants) availing medical services; persons travelling to airports, railway stations, and bus stands; persons appearing for examinations and teachers invigilating the same; government officials; personals working in media, both print and electronic; and bodies involved in emergency services. However, a supporting valid ID must be provided for the same. Additionally, inter-state and intra-state transportation of essential goods is also exempted from availing an e-pass.
