In the latest lockdown, all unnecessary vehicular movement stands cancelled. Only those falling under the essential and emergency service categories can travel within the city, and that too with an e-pass. Those associated with emergency services or organisations will need an e-pass for local movement. The list includes individuals associated with e-commerce delivery, those working with any form of online delivery services, and media persons.

Kolkata Police also tweeted about the same. “An E-pass facility for movement of Essential Service Providers & Online Delivery Services has been launched today by Kolkata Police. Please fill up the form with your details. An E-Pass will be sent to your email. It can be pasted on your vehicle during travel,” they wrote.

Kolkata Police also shared a list of notifications regarding restrictions/prohibitions in West Bengal till May 30, 2021.

Moreover, Kolkata Police has also introduced a dedicated website for availing e-passes. Those who need an e-pass can visit the website, mention all the required details, and they will receive a QR code-enabled e-pass through email or SMS. The individual must furnish this e-pass whenever asked at police pickets or checking points.
