Renowned Wax Museum Madame Tussauds Has Finally Opened In Dubai

World-famous wax museum, Madame Tussauds, launched its 25th location in Bluewater, Dubai and opened to the public on October 14. By Naina Atri

First announced in June this year, Madame Tussauds 25th location in Dubai finally opened on October 14. Located in Bluewaters Dubai, the museum includes figures of illustrious household names like Kylie Jenner and Justin Timberlake, as reported by TimeOut Dubai. According to the media house, along with 60 wax figures of global personalities, like Audrey Hepburn, 16 more wax figures of Dubai’s famed personalities have been added to the museums Dubai edition, including beauty sensation Huda Kattan.

Visitors can take photographs with their favourite celebrities such as supermodel Cara Delevingne, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, the Queen of England and Bollywood’s Badshah, Shah Rukh Khan. The museum brings the best of film, fashion, entertainment, sport and music together in seven themed rooms.

Open seven days a week, Madame Tussauds is an exciting addition to Dubai, a beloved tourist hotspot. The museum’s immediate neighbour is the world’s largest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, as reported by Forbes. The museum also includes a party room with an interactive dance floor and the interior decor of the space all add to the allure of Madame Tussauds, Dubai.

The UAE is now the first of the GCC countries to have a Madame Tussauds location. There are in total over 20 star-studded locations spread across the world, including Las Vegas, Istanbul, Delhi, and Sydney. The museum was first founded in 1835 in London by wax sculptor, Marie Tussauds. According to Forbes, a single wax figure takes 12 weeks to make and costs can add up to USD 190,000 (INR 14,26,140). A celebrity sits for approximately two hours for sculptors to capture their likeness, as reported by The Guardian. Some like the UK’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, even handed over his clothes to the museum.
