These Indian states and union territories require travellers from other states and UTs to carry a negative RT-PCR test to get entry. By Yagnoseni Das

To keep a check on the looming scare of the third COVID-19 wave, these Indian states and union territories have made a negative RT-PCR test result mandatory for those intending to visit. Check out the full list below:

Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Carrying a negative test report of the RT-PCR test issued by any ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) approved laboratory within 48 hours upon arrival is mandatory for the travellers flying to the islands.

Assam

Travellers from Bengaluru and Mumbai must carry and present a negative RT-PCR test report upon arrival in the state. The test must be taken not more than 72 hours before the arrival.

Bihar

Passengers arriving from Maharashtra, Punjab, and Kerala to Bihar are required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report conducted within 72 hours of arrival.

Chhattisgarh

All passengers travelling to Chhattisgarh are advised by IndiGo to carry a negative RT-PCR report not earlier than 96 hours from their arrival.

Goa

It is mandatory for all passengers arriving in Goa to submit an RT-PCR/TrueNAT/RAT negative report issued within 72 hours of their arrival.

Travellers from any Indian state or union territory need to carry a negative RT-PCR test report issued within 72 hours of arrival. Surat requires the visitors to have the SMC COVID-19 tracker app.

Jammu and Kashmir

Unless you are a defence personnel, you are required to present a negative RT-PCR test report issued within 72 hours of arrival to enter Jammu and Kashmir.

Jharkhand requires travellers to carry TRUENAT/RT-PCR negative test reports from an ICMR-approved lab.

Karnataka

Travellers arriving from Maharashtra, Kerala, Chandigarh, and Punjab are required to carry a negative RT-PCR test report issued within 72 hours of arrival.

Ladakh

Presenting a negative RT-PCR report upon arrival is mandatory for all travellers flying into Leh. RT-PCR timeline starts from the swap collection time.

Maharashtra

While travelling to Maharashtra from Gujarat, Delhi-NCR, Goa, Rajasthan and Kerala, travellers will need to carry a negative RT-PCR test. This is applicable to all travellers irrespective of their mode of travel. For air passengers, the test report must be issued within 72 hours prior to the flight.

Travellers visiting the state of Manipur are required to carry a negative RT-PCR report from an ICMR-approved lab not earlier than 72 hours.

Rajasthan

RT-PCR test is mandatory for people entering Rajasthan. The report must be issued within 72 hours of arrival to enter the state.

Tamil Nadu

Passengers travelling from Kerala to Tamil Nadu will need to produce a negative RT-PCR test report from August 5 to gain entry into the state.

Uttarakhand

To be allowed entry into Uttarakhand, a negative COVID-19 test report is mandatory for people coming from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Uttar Pradesh

Passengers arriving from Kerala and Maharashtra will require RT-PCR negative test report done within the last 72 hours to enter Uttar Pradesh.

West Bengal

Travellers must carry a negative RT-PCR report issued not earlier than 72 hours from an ICMR-approved lab to enter the state.
