The West Bengal government has released a new lockdown schedule on Wednesday. If you are planning a trip to Bengal this month, make sure to check out the latest schedule. By Kumar Shree

As reported by Live Mint, the state government in its statement on Wednesday said, “Several requests and appeals have been received from different quarters to relax complete lockdown on certain dates, which are coinciding with some festivals and local community-based customs.”

Here’s the latest West Bengal lockdown schedule for August:

Let’s take a look at the updated COVID-19 guidelines in West Bengal.

All the essential services, including medical outlets, will be allowed to stay open during the lockdown days.

All other shops must remain closed for two days every week.

All commercial establishments, including government and private offices, will remain shut.

The state government has already announced that schools, colleges, universities, and any other educational institutions will remain closed till August end.

Even though petrol pumps have been allowed to stay open during the lockdown days, all public and private transportation must refrain from any sort of movement.

Earlier, the state government had restricted incoming flights from cities that have a high number of Coronavirus cases to Kolkata. No flights from six cities including Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Nagpur and Pune are allowed to fly into Kolkata.

Domestic flight services from the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata will also stand cancelled on the days of complete lockdown in the state.

As on August 13, West Bengal has reported a total of 104,000 COVID-19 positive cases in the state.
