Planning a trip to Kashmir just got easier, thanks to Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation’s (IRCTC) new six-day tour from Mumbai to the Paradise on Earth. We bring you the scoop! By Aneesh Kumar

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has dropped a surprise for travellers planning a trip to Kashmir. Their new package, starting at INR 27,300, will allow travellers from Mumbai to cover Srinagar, Gulmarg, Sonmarg, and Pahalgam in a six-day tour, reports News18

According to MoneyControl, the trip will begin on September 25 or 26 and passengers will fly from Mumbai to Srinagar on an IndiGo airlines flight. Given below is the complete itinerary for IRCTC’s trip to Kashmir

Day 1:

Travellers will fly from Mumbai to Srinagar. After checking in at a houseboat, guests can rest for the afternoon. They will have the evening free to go on a Shikara ride (not included in the package), followed by dinner at the houseboat.

After breakfast, guests will go sightseeing to Pahalgam, where they will visit the Betaab Valley, Awantipora ruins, Chandanwadi, and Aru Valley on the way. Upon reaching the valley, travellers will get to choose between a pony ride and local sightseeing via a local taxi (price not included in the package). The day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay at Pahalgam.

Following breakfast, guests will visit Gulmarg, where tourists can explore the beautiful town on a Gondola ride (at their own cost), and return to Kashmir for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, guests will leave for the meadow of gold—Sonmarg. The place is located 2,800 metres above sea level and has beautiful mountains and views that make for a serene and mesmerising experience. With ponies on hire, tourists will be able to take a short trip up to the Thajiwas glacier. The day will end with dinner and an overnight stay at Srinagar.

Day 5:

On the fifth day, travellers will explore Srinagar with visits to the Mughal Gardens: Nishat Bagh, Chashme Shahi, and Shalimar Gardens. After that, they’ll go to the famous Hazratbal Shrine on the banks of Dal Lake. The evening will be free for guests to indulge in some local wares and purchase gifts for friends and family. The day will draw to a close with dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

The last morning of the trip will be free for tourists to explore the beautiful city on their own. Then guests will check out from their hotel and end their trip to Kashmir as they depart on the 5:35 PM flight to Mumbai from Srinagar.
