Come Friday and the garden city of India will host the iconic Lal Bagh Flower Show 2022. The Independence Day special flower show is making a return after two years. The show will run from August 5 to August 15. By Karan Kaushik

Everything you need to know about the Lal Bagh Flower Show 2022

The folks of Namma Bengaluru are looking forward to the Independence Day special Lal Bagh Flower Show. The show is expected to garner a footfall of over 10 to 15 lakh people during its ten-day run.

According to a report published in Deccan Herald, the Lal Bagh Flower Show 2022 will showcase 50-60 varieties of native flowers and around 50 varieties of flowers from the world over. The Hindu reported that the show will also feature 20 varieties of temperate flowers from Ooty, 27 varieties of flowers including tulips, hydrangea, hypericum berry from 10 countries.

Minister for Horticulture, Government of Karnataka Munirathna took to his official Twitter handle and shared pictures from his inspection visit to the botanical garden ahead of the show. “Inspected the preparations for Lalbagh Flower Show themed on Karnataka Ratna Dr.Rajkumar and Dr.Puneeth Rajkumar. Horticulture department Chief Secretary Rajendra Kataria and other officials were present,” he tweeted.

This year, the show will be dedicated to actors Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar. Visitors will be delighted to see statues of popular film characters played by the actors.

What’s also interesting to note about the Lal Bagh Flower Show 2022 is the fact that it will be a zero-waste, zero-plastic, and zero-littering event. The onus to maintain cleanliness at the show has been taken by the Solid Waste Management Round Table (SWMRT) in association with the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).

Where: Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Mavalli, Bengaluru, Karnataka

Entry fee: INR 80 (adults) per ticket on weekdays, INR 100 per ticket on weekends

For children below 12, the entry fee is INR 30 per ticket. The show is free for school children who visit in uniforms.
