The ropeway to the Gurudwara will be around 12.4 kilometres long. It is expected to cut down on the travel time between the two endpoints to 45 minutes. The trolley will have stations at Gurdwara Gobind Ghat, Pind Pullana, Gurdwara Gobind Dham and Hemkund Sahib, reports media outlets. This is also important, as pilgrims usually begin their journey from Gurudwara Gobind Ghat, spend the night at Gobind Dham, and finally reach Hemkund Sahib the next day. ” Sri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust vice-president Narinderjit Singh Bindra told Tribune, “It takes a total of three days (for pilgrims to cover the distance), but with the construction of the ropeway, the entire distance will be covered in a day.”
The project has been a long-pending demand and need, media reports state. The ropeway will definitely increase tourism to these destinations – both pilgrims and otherwise – and will also add another experience to undergo when in Uttarakhand. The state is a must-visit for nature lovers, those who want to spend time soaking the surreal beauty of nature, and the ropeway will add to the experience by offering scenic views of the surroundings.
