Madhya Pradesh is home to some of the best adventure sports in the country. Every year, thousands flock to the state for experiences like tiger safari, river rafting, kayaking, cycling, zip-lining, rock climbing, parasailing, and paragliding. The tourism department of the state has now added skydiving to this lineup, with camps organised from March 1-2 in Bhopal and March 3-6 in Ujjain.
The skydiving camps will be organised next to two airstrips
The skydiving camps have been organised in collaboration with Pioneer Flying Academy, an Aligarh-based flight school, which also backs SkyHigh India, an enterprise that’s associated with the United States Parachute Association (USPA). In a report by The Print, Sheo Shekhar Shulkha, principal secretary of tourism and culture, Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board said, “To experience the thrill of flying like birds in the sky, the golden opportunity of sky diving will now be available at Bhopal and Ujjain.” He added that this was the first of its kind in the state and is provided to adventurers at low prices and high standards.
The camp will take place from March 1-2 in Bhopal, near the Raja Bhoj Airport and March 3-6 in Ujjain next to the city’s airstrip. The fee for skydiving is INR 31,270, Free Press Journal reports, and tourists will be able to experience freefall from a height of 10,000 feet. The timings for the camp are from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
