You could soon go from sipping Irani chai at Charminar to taking a walk down Church Street within the same day. The proposed route, estimated costs, and other important details have been charted out as well.
The track between Bengaluru-Hyderabad will cover 503 km

Built at a cost of about INR 30,000 crore- as a part of the PM Gati Shakti initiative – the track will be built between Yelahanka Station in Bengaluru and Secunderabad Station in Hyderabad – covering a distance of about 503 km. At the moment, the track spans 622 kilometre. The reduced distance is mapped with care to avoid any detours, which in turn also helps cut costs. A fence wall that’s 1.5 m in height will be built on both sides of the railway track.
Railways is considering to develop a semi-high speed track compatible for running train at 200 kmph speed on the surface level close to the existing track between Bangalore and Secunderabad as a greenfield project at an estimated cost of Rs 30,000 crore.https://t.co/AT0OBEYV3a

The elevated route will reportedly feature viaducts like the RRTS corridor between Delhi and Meerut. The trains themselves might feature tilting coaches and state-of-the-art technology, including an upgraded version of train communication system. At the moment – with the current infrastructure – it takes about 10-11 hours for passengers to get from one metropolis to the other. This move comes after the Union transport minister recently announced the Bengaluru-Chennai expressway, which will also cut travel time between the two cities to about two hours one launched.
