For pilgrims keen on heading to Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a set of discounts and affordable tour packages. Priced at INR 58,900, the offer comes with a specific itinerary. By Eshita Srinivas
A significant spiritual circuit in India, the Char Dham Yatra features Uttarakhand’s mountain towns Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. Every year, thousands make their way to the region to visit the many temples along the route. This year, in light of dwindling COVID-19 cases in India, the IRCTD has announced a set of tour packages, as a part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi and Dekho Apna Desh initiative by the government.

As per a news report by Zee News, places within the tour package include Badrinath, Barkot, Gangotri, Guptkashi, Haridwar, Janki Chatti, Kedarnath, Sonprayag, Uttarkashi, and Yamunotri. The 11-day, 12-night stay has been priced at INR 58,900 per person, inclusive of GST if travelling in a group. Those looking to head on the pilgrimage on their own will need to pay up to INR 77,600.

The journey is set to commence on May 14 and go on until May 25. Complimentary breakfast and dinner are included in the package. According to a report by News18, travellers will, according to the itinerary, arrive in Delhi via Nagpur, from where they’d head to Barkot, Haridwar, Guptkashi, Gangotri, and other destinations. Car and bus facilities will be available to all travellers throughout the journey. Children will reportedly be charged separately.
