If you love the idea of a unique home, this one’s sure to pique your interest. A house in Richmond, London, has had people check their reflection in its walls every time they pass — because the walls are made of mirrors! By Anushka Goel
If your idea of a mirror house or a mirror wall was limited to the flimsy, funky reflective surfaces in carnivals and fairs, then this London house will surely excite you. The home, located in the Richmond area in London, has mirror walls, which reflect the surroundings – the street, its people and the trees, writes MyLondon.
The ‘invisible house’ in London is actually a giant mirror
The house was posted on Reddit by user u/smthgdbrn last year, after which it started to gather attention worldwide. However, locals reveal having passed by the house and not even noticing it was there. One user clarified that the house is in fact a residential property, and the report in MyLondon, which features interaction with the owners of the property, reveals that the home is actually lived in. The family moved into the property, designed by architect and artist Alex Haw, in late 2019. Ever since the Reddit thread began, people have been cracking jokes, one user saying, “it perfectly reflects who I am.”

The family said that Alex came up with the idea of the mirrors, which would make the house “interact with the environment”. They added that the mirrors are, in fact, a one-way glass that allows them to look outside but doesn’t let those outside get a peek of what’s going on inside. The family also mentioned how they often see people adjusting their hair in the giant mirrors of their home, which makes for a hilarious scene, writes LAD Bible.
