Summers are more than here, with soaring temperatures and tropical fruits and vegetables lining aisles in the markets. What’s also here is summer travel, with children having their summer vacations and their parents all set to visit new places with them. And to celebrate the same, the Mumbai International Airport is hosting a Summer Carnival, which will see exciting games and offers across its food and beverage outlets.

Mumbai Airport hosts summer carnival to celebrate travel

The carnival, which started on May 15, features some exciting discounts and activities planned for travellers who visit the F&B outlets, reports Times of India. The aim is to boost traveller experience, offering them greater value for money, especially as travel eases more than two years into the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to India.com, travellers who purchase cuisine combinations and meals can avail discounts at retail outlets that sell clothes, confectionaries, sweets, presents, mementos and more during this 45-day period. And this is not the first time the airport has hosted fun activities to lure travellers. In the past, events such as candle and diya decorations (to celebrate Diwali), Mumbai Street Food Festival, singing carols to bring in Christmas and Passenger Day have been part of the festivities here.

These activities act as incentives for travellers to pick up their bags and book more flights, while encouraging them to spend more time at the Mumbai Airport, and the summer carnival is another fun way to incentivise travel. During the pandemic, airports became places of anxiety and fear mixed with the excitement of travel, with mask and shield mandates, the fear of germs and contracting COVID-19 and a lot more. With moves like these, the fear is set to make way for excitement, as flights continue to take people on exotic, promising vacations.
