This move comes during the festive season, when thousands of people will look to travel. Thailand, for Indians, is among the most popular destinations for a short-haul journey, especially for international travel. The destination boasts of a rich heritage and culture, as well as gastronomic cuisine. Thailand, with its beaches, warm climate and much more to offer, has attracted not just leisure travellers, but corporate and digital travellers too. What’s more, the place is also popular for destination weddings and honeymooners.
At the moment, Thailand has a visa-on-arrival for Indian passport holders visiting for a maximum 15 days. Those who plan on staying for longer need to apply for a visa at the Thai Embassy. Now, these visa application drop box centres are expected to make the visa process a whole lot smoother for travellers as well as the embassies.
