Jaipur’s Art and Culture Department has recently introduced Astro Tourism in the city. This programme under the name of — Night Sky Tourism — will add yet another enchanting element to your itinerary. After all, we’ve all heard about the beauty of Rajasthan‘s starry nights.

Dr BD Kalla, Art and Culture Minister, launched the project at the secretariat lawn in the city. As reported by Times of India, Minister Kalla while launching the project said, “It will be a new experience for tourists and add more depth to the state as a tourist destination.”
Those who wish to be a part of these viewing sessions can assemble at Jawhar Kala Kendra and Jantar Mantar. Jawhar Kala Kendra is a noted arts centre in Jhalana Doongri, built and developed by the Rajasthan Government. Jantar Mantar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular astronomical observation site in Gangori Bazaar, JDA Market; King Sawai Jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur had built Jantar Mantar during his reign.

Mugdha Sinha, Secretary to the Art and Culture Department and Department of Science and Technology said, “Using new astronomical technology, the people of Jaipur and the visitors to the city will have the opportunity to see the night sky, stars, planets, the moon and much more.”
