Vacay In Style Like The Bachchans In Niyama Private Islands Maldives

If you follow Abhishek Bachchan on Instagram, you are most likely to find pictures of the family vacaying in what seems like a slice of heaven for we’re pretty sure that if it had moonlit nights by the changing blue colours of the sea, infinity pools, and palm-lined beaches, it’d look somewhat like Niyama Private Islands in Maldives. By Shubhanjana Das

But hey, why just stare when you could experience the vacay-life of the Bachchans themselves? We admit that we may not have Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the youngest Bachchan, Aradhya, as our travel companions, but such experiences are always best lived with your closest ones. Tighten your seat belts for we are about to take you on a virtual trip to what perfection looks like: Niyama Private islands.

Niyama

It’s really all about the dream of having a whole island to yourself coming true. With twin islands aptly named ‘Play’ and ‘Chill’, Niyama has mastered the art of offering boutique holiday experiences to its guests. Niyama is among the top five resorts in the world and we aren’t surprised why. The culinary, adventure, and sensory experiences offered in these two islands along with beach-side villas — we bet you will go back home a different person after having experienced the luxury of Niyama.

Stay

Not one, not two, not even three, Niyama gives you as many as 11 options to choose from when it comes to selecting your accommodation in the islands! While each comes with its own beach pool and views that could give any other seaside resort in the world a run for its money, it is ‘The Crescent’ that has stolen our heart. The Crescent offers the luxury of over-water living in a private villa, perched on a lagoon, having its own freshwater pool, staring at the endless horizon of the sea. P.S. we hope you like all shades of blue.

Wellness

Why go for an ordinary spa when you can have a customised wellness experience that suits not just your mood or skin type, but your personality as a whole? While you sip on your champagne and chocolates, experience luxury and pampering unfold as majestically as it ever could while staring out at the lagoon on an over-water treatment room or in a secret private garden. Their wellness packages extend to the family as well and are as wholesome and fulfilling as it gets.

Dining

You would think that living in private, isolated islands would mean having limited dining options, but Niyama subverts that notion, and how! Again, with as many as 11 restaurants located in different settings, Niyama’s dining and culinary experience is worthy of every praise and credit. Our favourite? The destination dining wherein you decide where you want your tables and wine glasses set out. A private chef cooking up a gourmet picnic in a private island? A thousand times yes!

Adventure

The best way to know an island is to explore both above and under its waters. With a plethora of water-sports and adventure activities, leisure is interspersed with just the right dash of adventure here at Niyama. Surfing, snorkelling, diving, boating, cruising, jetskiing, water-skiing, mono-skiing, wake-board, knee-boarding, catamarans, windsurfing, kite-surfing, parasailing, fun tubes: we could go on for days, really. But, it’s up to you to decide which water activity suits your idea of adventure and thrill the best. After all, you have a range of options to choose from!
