1. Goreme Open Air Museum, Turkey

First an important Byzantine monastic settlement that housed some 20 monks, then a pilgrimage site, Goreme Open Air Museum is one of Turkey’s UNESCO world heritage sites. It’s well preserved and contains both simple, red-ochre daubs and professionally painted frescoes with biblical scenes.

 

 

2. Storm King Art Center, New York State

Storm King Art Centre in Hudson Valley, New York is one of the world’s best sculpture parks in the world. This open-air museum contains the largest collection of contemporary outdoor sculptures in the United States.
