According to the Director-General of Dubai’s Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Helal Al Marri’s recent statement, Dubai is all set to welcome tourists slowly from July onwards but the date could get delayed to September depending on the global scenario.

The city on an average sees roughly 16 million visitors each year, and the numbers only keep increasing. One of the most visited cities in the world, Dubai’s economy highly depends on tourism, and retail and has seen a major hit after the coronavirus pandemic.

On Sunday, the city had announced that it had removed lockdown from two highly populated commercial areas. Additionally, the city has also reduced the 24-hour lockdown to eight hours. The same regulations have been updated in the Al Ras and Naif districts. The move came after the UAE relaxed nationwide Coronavirus regulations and curfews recently.

Dubai currently has 12,481 confirmed cases. As the numbers have been on a decline, Dubai has allowed cafes, restaurants and shopping malls to open with 30 per cent staff capacity.
