Taha al-Hiti, an Iraqi architect and calligrapher, designed the structure of the mosque supported by five pillars, each of which symbolises one of Islam’s pillars.

The mosque is a lot more than a place to worship. It is a visual representation of Islamic art, culture and architecture. It also holds various events dedicated to the whole community. It was awarded the Best Religious Building prize at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Singapore in 2015.
