A destination circled by palm trees, this elegant Peruvian village built around an oasis has served as an attraction for tourists for over 60 years. Crowded with hotels and restaurants, this destination was formerly a getaway for the upper-class Peruvians, exclusively. With a population of less than 600, today it has become a hub of various activities that you may like to indulge in.
Things To Do In Huacachina
Every day, travellers arrive here to do many of the must-do activities like sand-boarding down the dunes, taking a ride on dune buggies on what seems like a never-ending desert. It even gets better with more options for travellers to choose from.
After a tiring day of adventurous activities, you can indulge in some fine Pisco (national drink of Peru) and take a tour of a vineyard. Ica (the closest city to Huacachina) is the home to this famous drink.
Walking over these sand dunes and enjoying the sunset is another mesmerising experience that adds to your bucket list at the end of the day.
How To Reach
The place can be easily reached with buses going from Cusco, Lima, Paracas, Nazca and Arequipa. There are cab services from Ica to take you to the oasis of Huacachina.

There are many options for one to have a pleasant stay in the village with two hostels fully equipped with facilities similar to a five-star hotel and guest house service.
