ITBP will even bear all the arrangements and expenses for the operation and training in the academy. It has also prepared the road map for development and takeover of the water adventure facility near Tehri Lake and has submitted it to the state government to finalise a tie-up for the project, in order to boost tourism in Uttarakhand.
The training infrastructure built by the state government will be used by ITBP to teach all kinds of sporting activities in the area surrounding the Tehri Lake, following security and other norms stipulated by the state.
“Signing of the aforementioned Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is the latest development in the state’s adventure tourism sector and will add to the post-pandemic revival process of the same. This MoU is one of our initiatives to promote adventure activities in Tehri Lake. We hope that through this initiative, adventure tourism in Uttarakhand will get a new direction,” Dilip Jawalkar, Secretary, Uttarakhand Tourism, said.
