Late-Afternoon Luxuries in Chennai at Park Hyatt
For those who love a cup of hot tea with some finger sandwiches and delicate cakes, Park Hyatt Chennai has introduced late-afternoon luxuries with a Chennai twist at Park Hyatt.
At The Dining Room, the tantalising varieties of short-eats served every afternoon are a blend of English and Indian cuisine. They serve mouth-watering Indian chaats but a must-try is the finger sandwiches that come with various fillings like salmon, cheese, and tomato. The piping hot sabudana vadas are crisp, warm-hearted, and served with a mint chutney that carries a sharp attitude. Those with a sweet tooth are amply rewarded with an array of delights like glazed fig tea cake, fudge brownie, and feather-light chocolate mousse. An assortment of teas and coffees are on offer but being Chennai, Madras filter coffee is a speciality of the afternoon tea. It’s served in the quaint traditional davara tumbler and is instagram-worthy. The surprise twist for guests is that the menu changes daily, so it’s always an unexpected culinary journey! —Latha Srinivasan
