According to a notice by the Rajasthan Forest Department, no safaris can be booked via private channels. The notice stated that you can book your safaris on the official forest department website, fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in, and no place else.
The charges for the safari are as follows:
- INR 706 per person (Indian)
- INR 601 per person (Indian student)
- INR 1,731 per person (for foreigners)
Only six people are allowed per jeep, and this does not include the driver and children below 5 years. These safaris can enter either zone – Jhalana or Amagarh. However, if you want to enter Shikhar Audi, the charge for it will be INR 825. The forest department has also cautioned travellers to check the domain name of the website before booking – it should have a .gov extension.
Winters is a great time to experience India’s wildlife, and a journey to the Amagarh and Jhalana leopard safaris will only add to your experience.
