The East Coast Road or E.C.R is a favourite for many. This unique stretch is so famous that it had even found mention in one of Indian author Chetan Bhagat’s books. The 152-kilometre-long stretch is accompanied by the sea throughout the long winding road providing for a beautiful canvas for road trip lovers. What’s more, you can pit stop at the historically important Mahabalipuram or Mahabs as the locals call it. Visit the famous rock-cut temples and caves or indulge in fresh catch at one of the many shacks lining the coast.
3. Mumbai to Goa
Stretching over 622 kilometres, the father of the Indian road trip as it is popular known, the NH66 is a dream to drive on. Smooth roads coupled with scenic views and plenty of eateries on the way makes this a choice road trip for many.
4. Visakhapatnam to Araku Valley
With the Bay of Bengal on your left and Eastern Ghats on your right, the setting couldn’t be more perfect. Perfect for a weekend trip, the winding road leading to Araku valley offers a beautiful view of the mountains while you take in the crisp air around you.
5. Bengaluru to Bandipur

A road trip through a forest is definitely more exciting than driving through plains or mountains! And, we recommend the Bandipur Tiger Reserve for an adrenaline-filled road trip. Apart from charming roads that bring about a sense of nostalgia, the thought of passing through a jungle and spotting wild animals is enough reason to have a memorable trip.
