The next time you travel via SpiceJet or Indigo, you will have to pay extra to secure a seat of your choice through web check-in. And if you don’t, you’ll just have to stand in long queues at the airport. By Japleen Kaur
The minimum that you’d have to pay while travelling on Indigo is Rs 100, and SpiceJet would be Rs 99. Well, okay then. The airlines have introduced this as an attempt to increase their revenues, hoping that people would still opt for checking in prior instead of wasting time, standing in lines.
For some it may not be a heavy price but for others it comes as a reason to be furious. Why would they want to pay more for a middle seat, for a ticket that they have already spent on?
Here are a few tweets that not-so-happy customers have put out, and I guess, the airlines have some disaster management to do!
Beautiful. As per your revised policy, do you also charge for oxygen masks in case the plane loses altitude quickly? Do let me know so that I can carry my own.

Good morning to everyone, except the people @IndiGo and @SpiceJet who still think that passengers will pay for web check-in.

So I’m supposed to pay extra for web check-in so that I can pre-order a meal which will save me money #Indigo

Web check in option was made to make it hassle free for the customer and the airlines. Indigo has started charging for web check in and that’s so ridiculous and so not apt. #indigoairlineswebcheckin @indigo @
