After the announcement, which was made on Sunday, many locals and tourists have already started flocking to the destination to experience the thrill of the adventure sport. The paragliding experience begins from Astanmarg top, which is located on the outskirts of Srinagar, and ends at Chandpora ground, writes Rising Kashmir. The drop, a vertical one of about 2,000 feet, is a thrilling experience that gives adventure seekers the stunning views of the valley and its snow-capped peaks, before descending onto the ground.
Tourists need to book their ride online, after which they need to report at the Harwan garden, about 15 minutes away from Astanmarg. After being briefed about the gear and safety instructions, adventure seekers will be able to enjoy a 12 to 15 minute ride, as they feel the cold winds and soak in the stunning views from atop. The view includes snow-capped mountains, the Dal Lake, Dachigan National Park, Mughal Gardens and more, making it a wholesome experience.
The tourism department is also working on more incentives and activities to bring in tourists, as the destination provides a cool respite from the scorching summer heat. And with children going on their summer vacations soon, parents will soon be looking for places they can visit.
