Looking forward to a romantic date with your bae? We’d like to recommend some of the best romantic places for couples in Delhi. By Karan Kaushik

Hopeless romantics will tell you why they love monsoons. Rains bring with them the season of endless snuggling. Sharing an umbrella with your beloved on a foggy evening is magical. So is even being stuck in traffic and listening to old Hindi songs coupled with the sound of raindrops.

Delhi’s love affair with rain has always been special for Delhiwalas. The city blossoms when the heavens open up. Lovers steal precious moments from their daily grind to whisper sweet nothings to each other.

Here are our picks for the most romantic places in Delhi.

These couple places in Delhi are perfect for a romantic date with your boo

Lodhi Garden

This central Delhi park has been drawing courting couples for decades now. Its expansive lawns, heritage structures, and walking pavements offer much-needed solace from the busy city life. An ASI-protected site, it’s also a trip down history with monuments marking the Lodi-era, such as the tombs of Mohammed Shah and Sikander Lodi. Open all year long in Lodhi estate, the garden has always been a popular jaunt for Delhi residents. From here, you may also head to Khan Market and dine at one of the plush cafes and restaurants there.

Mehrauli Archaeological Park

Let your love reach new heights like the Qutub Minar at the Mehrauli Archeological Park. Embark on a heritage trail with your sweetheart and discover the hidden gems of Mehrauli. Start with everything touristy at the Qutub Minar. Your next stops should be the lesser-explored monuments like the Tomb of Balban, Jamali Kamali mosque, and Rajon ki Baoli. Spend some blissful moments at the peaceful Rose Garden before you head out to a fancy rooftop club in Mehrauli.

Humayun’s Tomb

“Aaj se Humayun ka maqbara hi hamare liye Taj Mahal hai,” Preity Zinta’s Alvira tells Abhishek Bachchan’s Rakesh in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The lesson? If you are unable to take your partner to see the Taj Mahal anytime soon, take them to Humayun’s Tomb. Steeped in love, the monument was built by Mughal Empress Bega Begum in the memory of her husband Humayun. If the weather is pleasant, you can spend hours here taking lessons on true love.

Hauz Khas Fort

Hauz Khas is an incredible blend of the old and the new. Walk past the chic cafes, urban galleries, and boutiques to reach the age-old Hauz Khas Fort. One of the most popular couple places in Delhi, the fort has been featured in several romantic dramas like Rockstar and Fanaa. Soak in the natural beauty at the lakeside or explore the hidden passages, or simply loll around in the well-manicured lawns, this fort promises a memorable date.

Purana Quila

If both of you are diehard fans of Bollywood romances, planning a date at Purana Qila could be super fun. From Veer-Zara to Love Aaj Kal and Jannat 2, Purana Qila has been uniting our Hindi film heroes with their heroines for a while now. Constructed by Mughal emperor Humayun and his intercessor Sher Shah Suri, the stunning fort and its lush surroundings make for a fantastically filmy place for lovers.

Sunder Nursery

Another gem on our list is Sunder Nursery. Flanked by Humayun’s Tomb on the south and Purana Qila on the North, this heritage park came into being as recently as 2018. Dotted with more than 266 native trees and plants, 373 bonsais of 34 varieties, and tranquil lakes, fountains, and ponds, Sunder Nursery has romance written all over its stunning landscape.

The Insta-worthy Champa Gali in Saidulajab village near Saket is lined with aesthetic cafes, classy bistros, art galleries, handicraft shops, designer boutiques, and more. Let the beautifully-lit Parisian alley help you create memories for a lifetime while you fall for your bae the nth time around.

Delhi Ridge or simply The Ridge is an extension of the Aravalli Hill Range. The Kamala Nehru Ridge Park, a part of the Northern Ridge near Delhi University has been witness to many a love story. The forested area offers idyllic environs for a romantic outing. Walk hand in hand on the unpaved trails, explore the rich flora of the place, or go cycling in Bonta Park. A date here is sure to rekindle your love for each other.
