The upcoming few months are going to be a treat for audiophiles throughout India. Performances by national favourites are lined up to end the year on a high note but this year a lot of international artists will also be performing in the country. The latest name that was added to this list was – Post Malone. The American rapper had his first concert in India on December 10 at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai and it was a star-studded affair.

For people who are fans of live music and have an inclination towards international artists, the last few days have been a roller coaster ride with mostly highs.

From Lollapalooza dropping their lineup and bringing Imagine Dragons, The Strokes and k-pop idol Jackson Wang to the country, to Sunburn Goa 2022 bringing some of the biggest DJ’s in the world including the duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Afrojack to ring in the new year. And, the latest concert by Post Malone was the cherry on top.

Post Malone performed as a part of the Feeding India Concert which was organised by Zomato. The basic idea behind this concert was to raise awareness and create a movement towards eliminating hunger and malnutrition in India.

The event was attended by the who’s-who of Bollywood and the stars did not shy away from sharing their fan moment on social media. Actress-entrepreneur Malika Arora took to her Instagram to share pictures with the American rapper after the concert. She posted the images with the caption,” U were awesome @postmalone (sic).”

Famous VJ Anusha Dandekar was also one of the attendees at the Post Malone concert in Mumbai. The star shared a snap with the rapper and captioned it, “Sorry for the cheeeese… BUT in my defence, this is one of my favourite Artists ever, his songs are always on loop, love his lyrics, his style and sound…Post FAN… and also he’s the loveliest person… so it was a pleasure to meet him. PM, you are a true I like you, I do… @postmalone ok ok end of cheese… (sic).”

Mrunal Thakur, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Palak Tiwari were also present at the concert. One of the highlights of the one-hour-long event was when Post Malone called out a 24-year-old fan on stage and sang the acoustic version of his famous song ‘Stay.’ The fan also made the rapper say, “Kya Bolti Mumbai?” to the audience which was received with a lot of love.

Explaining the concept of the concert a bit more in detail, BookMyShow’s website stated, ” Zomato Feeding India Concert is an awareness concert, with an aim to create a community movement towards eradicating hunger and malnutrition in India. The concert brings together international and national artists, impact makers, philanthropists, celebrities and you – the citizens, in our collective pursuit to build a hunger-free India. All donations pledged during the Zomato Feeding India Concert and profits (if any) go towards the cause.”

Things to know

  1. The event was not pet-friendly.
  2. Children under the age of 12 were not allowed. Children under the age of 16 were to be accompanied by an adult.
  3. A photo ID proof was needed to get the physical ticket. Attendees also needed ID proof for buying alcohol.
