The many meadows of Yusmarg offer idyllic environs to enjoy a rejuvenating picnic with your loved ones. Let the endless stretches of grassy pastures dotted with pines and grazing sheep allure you, while you make memories for a lifetime. You can also enjoy pony rides here.
Trekking to Nilnag Lake

A short five-km trek from Yusmarg takes you to the stunning Nilnag Lake. Surrounded by dense pine forests and snow-capped peaks, the turquoise lake will leave you smitten with its picturesque beauty. It’s quite a jagged path from Yusmarg to the lake, which takes you through thick forests and shimmery rivulets. Nestled beside the Gogji Pathri village, Nilnag Lake derives its name from its stunning blue colour. Enjoy a refreshing boat ride or simply loll around the lake. If you are in the mood for some adventure, there’s a 13 km uphill trek from the lake, which takes you to some gorgeous untouched spots.
Charar-i-Sharief

Dedicated to Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali, this 600-year-old shrine is one of the most sacred shrines in Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the quaint hamlet of Charar-i-Sharief on the route from Srinagar to Yusmarg. Devotees of all religions come here from far and wide. For the best experience, try and visit during the annual urs of Sheikh Noor-ud-din Wali, which is held in October.
Sang-e-Safed Valley

Head to this gorgeous little valley to unwind and soak in the tranquility of Yusmarg. Also known as White Rocks, the valley features an oval-shaped meadow, cut by a crystal clear tributary of the Doodh Ganga river. Let the sprawling meadows of Sang-e-Safed enchant you with their untrammeled beauty, while you enjoy a refreshing picnic with your loved ones. The valley also serves as the base for the Mount Tatta Kutti trek and other treks. On your way to the valley, do visit the Lidderman and Haigin meadows.
Trout fishing in Doodh Ganga River

The milky white Doodh Ganga supports a high abundance of trout, making it a great destination for angling enthusiasts. You need to buy a license from the office of the fisheries department. The department allows every angler a bag limit of six fish. Angling in Yusmarg is open from April to September.
