If working from home is becoming boring day by day, and making you feel like you could use some paradisiacal backdrop such as, beaches, mountains, or expansive greenery, basically a more relaxed working environment, then we have prepared a list of countries, that are offering long-term visas to remote workers. Simply put, now you can fly to some dreamy destinations around the globe and let nature be your cubicle.
1. Barbados

The Barbados Government is working towards the development of a 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp — a special visa for remote workers — that will allow them a year-long stay in the country. And, not just remote workers, but the Barbados Government is also planning to extend similar benefits to families who are planning to relocate. Reports further suggest that the approved applicants will be required to pay USD 2,000 for the individual visa, and USD 3,000, for the family bundle.
2. Bermuda

Bermuda has also launched a new residency certificate policy recently, and anyone above 18 years of age can apply for the programme. However, there are certain other criteria as well, that the applicants are required to meet in order to avail long term benefits, such as, they should have a proof of employment or of enrolment in an education programme, a valid health insurance, and a sufficient and continuous source of income to sustain their lifestyle.
3. Dubai

Dubai‘s new visa programme also allows remoter workers and their families for a year-long stay while working for an overseas company. The country, much like everything else, is offering unmatched benefits to those availing these long-term visas. The visitors can open a bank account in one of the local banks, get their very own internet connection, get a local phone number and those with kids can even get them enrolled in schools. If you’re looking for just one more reason to choose Dubai, how about the fact that it does not charge any income tax.
4. Estonia

The Republic of Estonia has also launched a special visa for remote workers, called the Digital Nomad Visa. According to the country, its Digital Nomad Visa is the first-of-its-kind in the European Union. Much like the long-term visas of Dubai and Barbados, this visa also allows workers to live and work in the country for up to a year.
5. Georgia

Georgia’s new visa programme aims to attract remote workers and self-employed individuals who are looking for six-month or longer stay in the country. Those looking for an escapade in Georgia will need a valid health insurance and a minimum earning of USD 2,000 every month to qualify for the programme. They will also be required to pay taxes, which is why the income bar has been set to a minimum of USD 2,000.
6. Germany

Germany has introduced a freelancer visa that can also be converted into a residency permit. Those looking forward to apply for the visa will need to present proof of income, letter of recommendation, and travel insurance.
7. Portugal

Portugal is offering temporary residence to remote workers through its visa programme, but with some unique conditions in place. Those seeking a visa will need to make sure that their skills are in demand in the country. Apart from this, the applicants will also need to register as a freelancer in the country, and those who already have some local Portuguese clients, will be given preference.
