A Delhi based musician couple – Hitesh and Payal Madan – have been hosting live concerts from their balconies to keep their neighbours entertained during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The couple resides in Rajouri Garden area of the capital city, and have been playing in their balcony since the Janata Curfew, which was imposed on March 22. Upon receiving a positive response, they made it a regular affair.

The video that has been doing rounds on the social media shows Hitesh playing the guitar and singing along with wife Payal, and their two sons – Ariv and Advay — taking over drums and bass. Appealing to the people to stay home, stay safe, Hitesh however, expressed that he misses performing for the big audience, and is doing this to keep himself motivated. He also revealed that they have been receiving a lot of requests for old Bollywood and Punjabi songs for their ‘Balcony Concert line up.

In yet another, similar video on Instagram, a singer by the name Stavya Kalia can be seen entertaining people with his soothing voicewhile his neighbours hoot and clap for him to set the rhythm. The singer also urged others to do something to bring a smile to the faces of kids and the elderly.

As musicians and popular bands across the globe are releasing virtual concerts, gigs and live music since the lockdown, many have taken inspiration to do the same to keep their quarantined audience entertained.
