1. Kanatal, Uttarakhand

Located in Uttarakhand, this town is often left untouched by tourists, who mainly head to Mussoorie. The place is surrounded by mountains, rivers, and some breathtaking scenery. Surkhanda temple, Kodia Jungle, and Tehri Dam are some tourist spots you can visit during your trip to Kanatal.  A quiet place, combined with pleasing weather, with neighbours being Chamba, Dhanaulti, Mussoorie, this hill station is appropriate for some secluded travelling. Nature walks, Ayurveda spa, hiking, trekking, and camping, are some activities to look out for in Kanatal

Lapped in the eastern frontiers of the Himalayan mountain range, Kohima is marked by a slow, calm and serene way of life. The place gives city dwellers a breath of fresh, unpolluted air. Being a typical Naga town, here you can experience the exotic tribal culture of the northeast and enjoy a panoramic view of the neighbouring hills. The town is well connected to Dimapur and Imphal. Tucked amidst the Western Ghats, the verdant beauty and pleasant weather conditions of Coorg make it a perfect summer destination. Dubbed as the ‘Scotland of India’, this southern hill station offers tourists the lush teak wood and sandalwood forests, and acres of tea and coffee plantations of Kodagu. Adventure activities like trekking, angling and white-water rafting, and festivals such as Keil Poldu, Cauvery Shankaramana, and the Huttari festival are reasons enough to head to Kodagu this summer. Coorg is also home to some beautiful monasteries and waterfalls.

This lakeside resort town of Tamil Nadu is famous for its cool weather, mist-covered manicured cliffs and waterfall. Located amidst the Palani Hills, this place helps you take a break from city noise and relax in the lap of nature, as you take biking and trekking trails through the forests surrounding the place. ‘Princess of Hills’, ‘Gift of The Forest’, the place has been given many such names to define its beauty. Famous for its beautiful monasteries, and for being the birthplace of the sixth Dalai Lama, Tsangyang Gyatso, Tawang is one place where natural beauty combines with spirituality. This Arunachal-based town is also home to the beautiful Gudpi and Chong-Chugmi ranges, Tawang chu River and Tawang valley. The 14th century Tawang Monastery is a major pilgrimage centre here. Paradise Lake at Sea Pass, Gorichen Peak, Taktsang Gompa, Nuranang Waterfall, and Pankang Teng Tso Lake, are also some of the tourist spots you can explore in this town.
