The state government of Uttarakhand has recently lifted all previous travel bans on inter-district, inter-state travel, and even removed restrictions for international travellers. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it? But there are a few things you need to keep in mind before deciding to head to the mountains.
While heading to the state, make sure to adhere to and update yourself with all of the necessary guidelines. Do proper research about your choice of stay and check in with your homestay or hotel about the local regulations. According to news reports, only those establishments that are not in the state’s containment zones are open for business. Further, those wishing to enter the state will need to upload their COVID-19 tests result on the state’s website.

Similar to other places, the test results will need to be done not older than 72 hours from the time of arrival. Additional checks will be conducted by district authorities to verify the reports, at the time of entry at all arrival points.
International travellers will need to register their details on the state website and be prepared to undergo home and institutional quarantine for seven days. All travellers will need to be prepared to stay for a minimum of seven days as well.
While the restrictions are lifted, even inter-district travellers are expected to register on the website ahead of their journey, although they are exempted from quarantine, as Uttarakhand reopens for regular business.
