Launched earlier this year, Gevora Hotel, Dubai, has claimed the enviable title of the tallest hotel in the world. By Rashima Nagpal
Another star in the glitzy metropolis of Dubai, the spanking new Gevora Hotel aims to take hospitality standards to new heights, literally. At 357.8 metres high, the hotel edged its closest competitor by one metre when it launched in February this year. With 528 rooms and suites across 75 floors, five culinary venues, a state-of-the-art health section, and plenty of recreational activities, the hotel caters to all the possible needs of the globetrotter. It also spoils, with opulent touches like gold-coated revolving doors at the entrance.
Looking out to Dubai’s cityscape, the guest-rooms are stylish and lively. All three categories—Deluxe Rooms, Premium One Bedroom Suites, and Two Bedroom Suites—feature an in-built kitchenette, separate seating area, an interactive television set, premium toiletries, and more. The smallest of them is 46 square metres in area.
The hotel offers five culinary destinations. While the all-day diner, Gevora Kitchen, serves world cuisines in a casual setting, Le Veyron is the place for your fix of coffee, while The Overview Pool Lounge takes care of your hunger pangs post a swim. The two upcoming restaurants—Highest View Restaurant & Lounge and Level Twelve—are set to be equally indulgent with exceptional seafood, and innovative mocktails, and Asian fusion dishes on the menu, respectively.
For a dose of wellness, the Health Club on the 12th floor offers separate gyms for men and women, a steam room, and sauna. The pool deck further houses a children’s pool and a jacuzzi for complete relaxation.
