It’s raining free tickets! AirAsia is giving away 50 lakh free domestic as well as international tickets to its customers. Here’s everything we know about it. By Nishtha Grover
Asia’s low-fare leader, AirAsia, is giving everyone a reason to fly. To celebrate travel getting back to normal and boosting tourism, AirAsia is giving away 50 lakh free tickets which can be availed on the airlines’ website as well as the app.
The free seats went on sale on September 19 and an announcement was made regarding the same on the company website. The free tickets will be up for grabs only till September 25. The free tickets will be for flying between January 1, 2023, to October 28, 2023. The seats are available for domestic flights, across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and to farther destinations as well.
ASEAN includes – Cambodia, Brunei, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore, The Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

How to avail AirAsia’s free tickets
The free tickets can be booked using the website as well as the app of AirAsia. The travellers just have to click on the flight icon and choose dates to get the free tickets.

Among the destinations for which the free tickets can be grabbed are flights direct from Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) to Krabi and Phuket, as well as flying direct from Bangkok (Don Mueang) to Chiang Mai, Sakon Nakorn, Nakorn Srithammarat, Krabi, Phuket, Nha Trang, Luang Prabang, Mandalay, Phnom Penh, Penang, and many more.
According to a report by Mint, AirAsia’s Group Chief Commercial Officer, Karen Chan said, “We wish to thank our loyal passengers who have had our back through thick and thin with the biggest ever FREE Seats* campaign. Not only have we resumed many of our much-loved routes, we’re also introducing new and exciting ones for greater value and choice.”
It also read, “This extra special sale was also put together to celebrate our 21st birthday and the gradual reopening of borders worldwide and with all of that, we encourage everyone to take advantage of our Big sale and commitment to always make air travel accessible to everyone. As always we expect the best value fares will be snapped up fast which is why we urge value seekers to get in quick.”
