The melody of chirping birds and the soft whoosh of the forest breeze can lose their charm when you’re struggling to settle into a comfortable position in your sleeping bag while swatting away flies. And that’s where glamping comes in. Taking one of life’s simplest pleasures and adding a bit of luxe to it, this form of travel really is all about having the best of both worlds. With plush pillows, amenities, and extravagant meals combined with the promise of an adventurous time, here’s our list of the best glamping spots from Bengaluru.

Add a twist to your adventure itinerary with these glamping spots from Bengaluru

Couched in the spot where the Bandipur and Nagarhole national parks meet, the babbles of the Kabini river form the backdrop of The Bison Resort. Here you can stay in African-style tents with soft double beds, dressing tables, armchairs, personal lounge and dining areas, and stunning walk-in showers and tubs that will have you taking bubble baths under the stars. After a leisurely breakfast, head out to a safari to spot deer, boars, or even tigers. Or sit back with a drink in hand to count elephants. We recommend a midnight boat ride on the backwaters. There’s also plenty of opportunities to discover different species of reptiles, birds, and other wildlife. Just a five-hour drive away from Bengaluru, there’s no better way to experience wildlife than by staying here.

One of the more popular options for glamping from the city, and for good reason, 16 Bedouin resorts have several luxurious tents on offer. The Thar tent houses up to 4 people and comes with a double bed, ensuite bathroom, television, WiFi and a lot more. The Moroccan tent, meanwhile, comes with all of that and a private pool and outdoor shower. A stay here comes with barbeque and campfire nights, poolside drinking, and lazy dips in the pool.

You don’t need an excuse to explore God’s own country. With stunning natural topography, complete with rolling hills, billowing trees, and roaring rivers, there’s so much the region offers. And now you can experience all that and more with a stay at The Outer Space (Toss Glamping) at a beautiful glass cabin in Munnar. Here you can recline on a soft bed while watching the stars and taking several pictures for the ‘gram, wifi included. And when you run out of battery, there are charging points at an arm’s reach to keep your phone going. We recommend being in the cabin during dawn to watch the colours of the sunset bounce off of the glass walls. You could also look forward to campfire nights and short treks to a waterfall while you’re here.

Located in Kabini, a stay at KAAV promises to be both adventurous and romantic. Their luxury tents feature a private deck, open bathtubs, and stunning views of the wilderness. A boat safari to watch over 250 species of birds and spot reptiles along the way comes highly recommended here. And if you’re a conscious traveller, you’ll be impressed by how the resort uses renewable sources of energy. For instance, all their kitchen waste is turned into biogas to be used for all cooking. The groundwater tables are constantly replenished and endemic flora is planted annually to maintain the biodiversity of the woods. With the promise of a small footprint, you can rest assured you’re being sustainable, even while enjoying luxe offerings while you’re here.
