Soon, your trip to Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah may be made even more luxurious, as Armani Hotels and Resorts and Diriyah Gate Development Authority have unveiled plans for a new, signature Armani hotel in the city. Here’s what we know so far. By Anushka Goel
With a resemblance to Armani Hotels & Resorts’ current properties in Dubai and Milan, the hotel group, along with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), have announced plans to create a signature hotel in the Saudi Arabian city. The property will be managed by Emaar Hospitality Group, according to the latest press release by the hotel group. The 300-year-old site is just 15 minutes from Riyadh, and is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, At-Turaif, the valley and lush palm groves of Wadi Hanifah.

Diriyah, which is soon undergoing development, has a rich history of culture, and with the current development projects that are going on, the city will comprise 13 unique districts inclusive of museums, cultural institutions, fine dining, residences, hospitality offerings, office space, retail, and outdoor attractions.

Armani Hotel Diriyah will be the group’s third project and is set to represent the hotel’s hospitality, conversing with the unique architecture and landscape of the destination. Overlooking Diriyah’s ultra-luxury hospitality and retail quarter, the property will include 70 luxuriously designed rooms, two restaurants and a high-end spa, with suites having their own spa and a swimming pool, with a variety of wellness, hospitality and relaxation experiences. The hotel is also connected to about 18 exclusive self-contained ultra-luxury Armani Branded Residences – designed and furnished by Armani – with spacious interiors and outdoor pools, landscaped terraces and rooftops.
