The already alluring Soneva Jani in the Maldives now has a new means to entice travellers—Soneva Jani Chapter Two. Complete with luxurious over-water villas, innovative dining concepts, and an all-new indulgent way to stay at the resort, this Maldivian escapade is crafted to help one vacation in vogue. By Bayar Jain
Since its inception in 2016, Soneva Jani has cemented its name as the ‘go-to’ for luxurious Maldivian holidays. Located on Noonu Atoll, this secluded sanctuary comes surrounded with unspoilt white sand beaches contoured by sparkling waters of a private lagoon. Elevating this paradisiacal vibe further is Soneva Jani Chapter Two.
This renewed avatar is making headlines for offering immersive experiences to guests. Take the 27 new Water Reserves here, for instance. Accessible via a wooden jetty from the southern tip of the main island, these capacious spaces range from one bedroom to four—each of which is designed to evoke space, seclusion, and splendour. Positioned to unravel sunsets and sunrises over uninterrupted oceanic views, these rooms come paired with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, expansive terraces, freshwater swimming pools, open-air bathrooms, retractable roofs, and a water slide that plunges into the lagoon.
Talking about culinary offerings, this resort has delectable dining options for its patrons. In its updated version, the already renowned gastronomic destination has expanded to include three new dining concepts: plant-based dishes and ‘the catch of the day’ at Overseas by Mathias Dahlgren; a mostly-raw menu, inspired by the Spice Islands at So Wild by Diana Von Cranach; and meats, seafood and plant-based fare, grilled and sizzled to perfection at the So Primitive fire-pit.
Soneva Unlimited
With the Soneva Unlimited offer, all guests staying in a Soneva Jani Chapter Two Water Reserve or Island Reserve can be assured of uninterrupted pampering and a calendar of events by Michelin-starred chefs. This means a personal Barefoot Butler, unlimited drinks and dining (including with visiting chefs); limitless spa treatments and massages; unlimited experiences, including water sports and diving; and so much more—all included in the villa rate.
