Here's Why You Can't Miss Visiting The Tent City In Kevadia, If You're In Gujarat

Situated near the Narmada river, a stone’s throw away from the Sardar Sarovar Dam are clusters of luxury tents built specifically for those who are visiting the world’s tallest statue — The Statue Of Unity. By Japleen Kaur

The Tent City is divided into two sections, 1 & 2, that are then further divided alphabetically; each cluster with its own common sitting area. The tents are designed to give you comfort amidst the nature. Literally, constructed in the middle of nowhere.

Packages starting at around Rs. 3,000 per person, per night, include a tour of the statue as well, which is about a 10-minute drive from the premises. Inside the property are larger tents of the dining hall, a play area, an open ground for traditional/cultural shows that take place there for the guests, every night.

Food served is pure vegetarian along with Gujarati delicacies such as sev tamatar saag, besan gatte ki sabzi, methi gatiya, and so on. The abstract, vibrant exterior of the dining hall sure makes the perfect spot for those Instagram pictures. On the other hand, the tents are furnished with everything that you’d need for an enjoyable stay.

Apart from the statue, you can visit the river side, reach the sunset point for a great view after a short hike, go on top of the dam to look at the statue from afar, visit the valley of flowers, and walk among the many colourful flowers there or just sit in the warmth of your tent, and sip on some coffee.

The tourism board has also introduced helicopter rides over the statue, and the dam starting at Rs 2,900. Inquire about it when at Tent City Narmada as local guides appointed by the board are ready to talk, anywhere anytime! Just make sure you take all measures to stop the mosquitoes from biting you.
