Good vibes, ambient skies and lots of groovy music await you in Alwar. From November 11-13, the city is set to host Locals District, a techno music festival which will host over 40 artistes from across the globe. Here are the details. By Anushka Goel

Warm Rajasthan afternoons and cool evening skies, coupled with time spent outdoors, grooving to the music, is what awaits you from November 11 to 13 in Alwar. The city is set to host the fourth edition of Locals District, the country’s favourite techno music festival. The open-air festival will be held at Ram Bihari Palace in Alwar.

What to expect at Locals District, India’s favourite techno music festival

The festival is set to host over 40 techno artistes from India and across the globe, reports state. The lineup includes Catz N’ Dogz, French DJ-Producer Justine Perry, Iranian DJ-Producer Armen Miran, DJuma Soundsystem, Rico Casazza, Just B, Indian techno heavyweights Reverse Osmosis, Jitter, Mashter and Mister.k. This is not all – a lot of popular international musicians will also mark their India debut at the festival.

Over the last few years, the musical extravaganza has been hosted at plush, premier palaces across Rajasthan, and this year, Alwar’s Ram Bihari Palace has been chosen as the venue, reports add. The palace and the heritage vibe it exudes will add a unique charm to the festival. Located in close proximity of the Siliserh Lake and the Sariska National Park less than an hour away, the location is apt for travellers and revellers, both.

The festival aims to highlight underground music, and heritage sites in Rajasthan serve as the perfect backdrop for the same, Vijay, the founder and director of the festival told Zoom. Not only does this make for a pretty backdrop, but also helps international artistes visiting India experience the rich Indian culture, he added.

Locals District was on a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this year’s music festival is set to bring back the love for techno in a bigger, better form. With impeccable sound quality, great venues and comfortable stays, be sure to have an experience like you’ve never had before.
