Located on the Ridge, next to Christ Church is The Brew Estate. It is the sixth outlet for the pub, but a first in HP. After its successful venture in Chandigarh, the decision of launching one up north is proving to be quite fruitful.

A huge space with an indoor seating with the options of comfortable sofa settings, low chairs or high bar stools to choose from, and a semi-outdoor beer garden area with views give you your picture perfect sunsets. In fact, the smoking area has to be the best spot to catch the city view. Smoking area goals, anyone?
Coming to the star of the article, the craft beers are a breath of fresh air from the regular ones that wine shops in Shimla had to offer. The Red Ale is lip smackingly delicious, especially with the crunchy corn appetiser. As of now there are only three varieties of the beer but slowly, and surely more will be introduced. The food is just as appealing, though I was not too much a fan of the kebabs, the prawns however are worth every penny. Being a Mumbaikar getting seafood in the hills is a luxury, and the peeps at Brew Estate sure know that.

They brew their beers in-house for everyone to see. The outlet in Chandigarh lets you take a tour inside the making of the same, hopefully Shimla will follow suit. The kitchen is open too for the customers to get a feeling of semi-live cooking experience. PS: the head chef is an absolute darling!
Decked in hues of browns and mood lights on point, this place goes on from being the ideal cafe to a romantic date night restaurant within minutes. There is a dance floor too for you to let your hair down but I guess, it’ll take some time for Shimlaites to get used to a pub, so for now, you’ll see groups cooped up together, just having a good time. Dancing may come later on a Saturday night, after a few beers down. My suggestion? Bollywood music is needed.
All in all, the capital of HP is already a favourite vacay spot, and this venture just makes it all the more enticing.
