Although the final announcement is yet to be made, the BCCI has informally conveyed its plans to the IPL Governing Council, which is reportedly scheduled to meet next week in order to finalise the details and the approvals.

Moreover, considering the fact that the team would need at least a month to practice, the IPL franchises will leave base on August 20. Reports also suggest that the officials have been preparing the SOP and will soon write formally to the UAE Board as well. Further steps will be taken based on the decision of the UAE Government. Additionally, as per Dubai protocols, if one is carrying a COVID-19-negative test report then they don’t need to be quarantined as of now.
The IPL tournament was earlier scheduled to take place in March but was postponed due to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus.
The ICC, after already postponing the men’s T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, recently announced the new dates for three of its upcoming events.
